The Human Resources Assistant will assist the Chief of Human Resources with complex and specialized administrative tasks including reviewing job applications from prospective employees, managing and overseeing records, and generating reports. Completes new employee onboarding and performs various pre-employment checks. The Human Resources Assistant performs administrative support for the HR Clerk, Staff Development and Chief of Human Resources. Maintains accurate and up-to-date human resource files, records, and documentation. Maintains the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records. Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately. Set up and maintains filing systems; prepares and distributes correspondence, reports, forms and other documents; performs complex data entry; compiles statistical data; assists applicants and employees with questions regarding employment and employee issues/concerns; assists with staff development programs and reports; assists in managing, administering and communicating Center policies, procedures and benefits; under the direction of the Chief of Human Resources with special projects and other duties as needed.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, & EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • At least a minimum of one year office experience required.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.

ESSENTIAL TASKS

  • Ability to apply professional office skills, techniques, and methods.
  • Knowledge of and ability to work in Human Resource software - Paycom.
  • Knowledge of Relias, online continuing education training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively; to plan and execute work.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and to establish good relationships with applicants, employees, and the general public.
  • Possess good organizational skills.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with data systems to include business software such as Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to self-monitor workload and quality of work with minimal assistance and consistent punctuality.
  • Ability to work in a productive environment and meet and/or exceed established performance/workload goals.
  • Ability to perform as a team member in a diversified environment interfacing with both internal and external persons.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Valid Texas Driver’s License required and reliable transportation.
  • Must not have more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
  • Must be insurable and remain insurable on Center’s insurance.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

SHIFT

Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
